
Rack QL: maximum capacity, ventilation and security for server environments
When an installation is designed for servers, network electronics, and active equipment, the rack cabinet is no longer just a support structure and becomes a key part of infrastructure performance. In these cases, load capacity, ventilation, accessibility, and internal organization make the difference.
Citadex’s Rack QL has been developed to address this type of requirement. It is a high-performance server rack cabinet, designed for demanding environments and prepared to house heavy equipment with a static load capacity of up to 1500 kg and 800 kg in dynamic conditions. It also incorporates high-capacity castors and included adjustable levelling feet, making both movement and levelling of the assembly easier.
One of its strong points is its approach to thermal management. The Rack QL incorporates a “No Return” system, designed to prevent hot air from returning to the cold aisle and thus improve airflow behavior in the installation. In addition, it features a reversible perforated front door with 85% ventilation and a double perforated rear door with 80% ventilated area, a configuration especially suitable for server environments where cooling is a priority.
At a structural level, it is made of cold-rolled steel and finished in Black RAL 9005. Its side panels are removable and horizontally split, which facilitates access and maintenance. Both the front and rear doors have three-point locks, providing an extra level of security and robustness in daily use. The cabinet is available in 42U and 48U versions, with widths of 600 and 800 mm and depths of 1000 and 1200 mm.
Another important aspect of the Rack QL is the ease of installation and internal organization. It features numbered 19” rails in both directions, large cable entry points in the floor and roof, and in the 800 mm models it includes vertical cable managers with cover and rings, helping to keep the installation more orderly and accessible. It is also prepared for the installation of vertical PDUs without occupying U spaces, which is very useful in projects where the aim is to make the most of the cabinet’s usable space.
Overall, the Rack QL is a solution aimed at projects where high load capacity, optimized ventilation, security, and ease of maintenance are required. For that reason, it is particularly suitable for data centers, technical rooms, communications installations, and professional environments with servers or high-performance active equipment.
